PNE type phenolic epoxy resin YLEP-631 is a multifunctional epoxy resin synthesized by the condensation of a phenol-formaldehyde novolac resin with epichlorohydrin. Its structure is characterized by multiple functional groups and high cross-linking density. This results in performance properties that include excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and high mechanical strength. Consequently, it is primarily used in applications demanding high temperature stability, chemical resistance, and superior mechanical strength.

YLEP-631 has lower viscosity than YLEP-638, has two advantageous properties, heat resist and reactivity due to multi-functional epoxy group. Comparing with BPA-based epoxides which have two epoxides per molecule, YLEP-631 has an average of 2.7 epoxy groups per molecule. It provides tightly cross-linked cured systems having better elevated temperature performance, chemical resistance and adhesion than the BPA-based resins. It suitable for heat-resistant adhesives, composite materials, high-temperature resistant coatings, electronic laminates, civil engineering, and epoxy vinyl inks.
